  18. I don't see what common sense or intelligence has to do with switching
  19. from an 8-bit machine to something else. If a tool does what you need it
  20. to do to your satisfaction, common sense and intelligence would dictate
  21. that you should NOT replace it with something else.

  23. As for Pascal, no it isn't tough to learn, but why spend all that extra
  24. time typing, then have to wait for the program to compile before you can
  25. even test it? I've seen no other language that beats BASIC for quick
  26. program development, and if you really need the extra speed, chuck the
  27. high-level languages and get your hands dirty with straight assembly.
  28. Frankly, while Pascal has some good recursive capabilities, it was
  29. designed as a teaching language, to force students to learn structured
  30. programming. As such, it takes five times the typing to do something as
  31. simple as BASIC's PRINT "HELLO WORLD".

  33. Instead of preaching to Commodore users about the virtues of switching
  34. platforms, shouldn't you be off somewhere studying the latest version of
  35. Visual C++?
